Lane Head Farm, situated in the green belt area of Cawthorne, Barnsley is the original site of three terrace farm houses. The existing houses were dilapidated and beyond any means of repair, a scheme was proposed to demolish the existing buildings and re-build to provide three new residential buildings. With a restriction agreed with the Local Authority not to build any higher then the existing ridge level, to achieve a larger floor area it was proposed to build an extra level below ground with courtyards to provide light into the lower level rooms. The project is currently in construction and is due for completion later in 2010.
